Entry Date: Sat, July Event: Big Jam - Missisauga
........11:00 am, I am woken up by a phone call by one of my boys, "Ghost, i'm going to be at your house in 30 mins." Usually, i hate waking up this early , but its ritual for my crew and i to go have lunch out before a big jam.... ........12:00 pm, We all meet up at the Eaton centre and head towards the record store to see if anything new came in. ........12:30 pm, After the record store we head to a small dining place to eat and relax before the jam. conversations about the night start to begin..... ........2:30 pm, The promoter gives me a msg on my 2-way "700-800 people expected.....your set is 1 hr, around 10 o'clock, your the only hip hop reggae dj" ................ I Usually ignore what the promoter says because if they are unorginized (usually whats the case) the plan changes 5 times before the event. .......3:30 pm, we are back at my house listening to some tunes, getting my crates together.... tonight i am only bringing 3 crates since my set is 1 hr so i have 4 people bringing them for me. .......5:30 pm, We leave my house and set off for the venue... doors open at 7, so we leave early because i love to see what the crowd is like before i go on.. .......6:30 pm, we arrive at the venue and pass by the front to see how long the line up is....... doors open in 30 mins, and a long line up of atleast 70 people has already started. .......7:00 pm - 9:00 pm, My boys and i chill backstage.... i love having my boys with me all night , they make the experiance much more fun!.... The sets of the other dj's were pretty hot... it started with and D'n'b dj, then old school dj, then a euro dj, then it would be my turn..... .......9:00 pm, I got my first warning about my set being in 1hr, i looked at my watch and notice that the promoters were right on time! they did a good job the whole night , everything was planned out well. .......9:45 pm, the promoter tells me to get my crates up on stage .. this is when the nerves start to kick in.....i get up on stage and watch the euro dj mix his last 3 songs.... the floor was pretty empty, so i knew it was my duty to give these hip hop heads what they wanted!!! .......10:00 pm, Time for my set!, i let the last song put by the euro dj air out, then at the bridge of the song i dropped a heavy tune .... " DONT THIS HIT MAKE MY NIGGA'S WANNA JUMP" soared through the speakers, and the place errupted, The floor was full in a matter of seconds, my quick mixes, and heavy scratches only got the floor more packed....after 15 mins of hip hop i switched it over to reggae.....the first reggae joint i put on was "romie" , the feedback from the crowd was amazing , there voices singing along to the joint was overpowering the strong sound system!!! its underscribable how amazing it was........ now i could see the whole crowd, and it was packed ... atleast 600 people in attendence, after 30 mins of reggae i switched it back to hip hop ... and through on Lumidee's "uhh - ohh" once i put my own remix with 50 cent in it the jam got to crazy, the promoter came up to me and told me to put on some chillin songs because it was getting out of hand.... so i did as he said (i want to get paid ;) lol ) and through on some R&b blends. ........11:30 pm, we only had one question "Wheres the after party?"
